Watching the World wake up from history...

We all saw it this morning.  You were there...and now you'll never forget where you were when you heard that the man who delegated the awful 9/11 attacks on the United States had been killed.

I can still remember that morning in 2001 when I heard what he had done.  I was a Sophomore in high school, and I was in gym.  I was confused, afraid, and sad.  It felt completely unreal, and by the time I made it to study hall it was all I could think about.  I remember convincing  my teacher to let me cal my dad, since my cousin worked in the Pentagon and I was terrified that he wasn't okay.  He was - thank you, Lord - but many others weren't.  May God rest their souls.

Where were you on that terrible morning?

Now we can rejoice, if only for a minute, that the man responsible for such hatred and fear is dead.  That last ten years of war were not in vain, and the world is safe from one more evil person.  Sadly, we know, there are many more, but not many who were responsible for such devastation around the globe.  Maybe...hopefully...this will shine like a beacon for the others that sooner or later you will be caught and you will pay for your crimes.

Good in this world will prevail over evil, and you cannot win.

I want to take a minute and thank each and every man and woman serving for this cause.  Military personal around the globe, from every nation, you have contributed to ridding us of one more evil person.  Thank you for honoring your fellow human beings and caring for the rest of us as if we were your brothers and sisters.  May the Lord protect you as you do this amazing job that many of us cannot do, and may you all come safely home soon.

  1. I was a sophomore in highschool, I heard about it over an announcement in my 1st hour chemistry class. It seems like a lifetime ago and just yesterday at the same time. I didn't even know that a country called Afghanistan existed before that day, much less someone names Osama Bin Laden, and I thought myself someone who was up to date on current events and politics. I read the paper. I was informed. It was a day that changed my perspective forever.
